What is that guitar? September 28, 2023

Can I get a closer look at your guitar? What is that guitar? Is that even a guitar?

These are questions I get asked…at pretty much every gig I play.

This is my Yamaha Silent Classical guitar. (SLG200NW for those of you who like model numbers.)

These came on the market in 2001 and crossed my radar probably somewhere around 2006/2007. As soon as I saw them I wanted one. I felt like Yamaha had designed these specifically for me. Week of July 10th to 15th July 16, 2023

We started the week off with our Sunday game stream in which I played a lot of minigames. The Monday Morning Sing Song was really lovely again, and we ended by raiding the Otter Tank at the Vancouver Aquarium.

Tuesday was a very productive pre-production day. Got some issues with upgrading my DAW sorted, and settled on some click tracks.

The theme for this week’s Wednesday Warble was colours, and as a result I added Sting’s Fields of Gold to my list of covers, and got ‘I’m Here for the party’ back in rotation, even if... (more)

Queen of the Damned July 10, 2023

We went on a vampire movie spree. Some people are really into vampires. I’m not one of those people, but I did read Anne Rice’s first 4 vampire novels (20 years ago) and I recall liking Queen of the Damned the best, so I was particularly excited about this film when it came out. I led my series last week with a 10 star review. Here’s my four star review of Queen of the Damned. I suspect those stars are for visuals.

Week of July 2nd - 8th July 08, 2023

After a couple weeks of traveling we got back to our first full week of streaming. We started the week on Sunday playing Yakuza Kiwami 2, then the Monday Morning Sing Song was really plesant. We had lots of regulars there for the whole 3 hours, had some new viewers, and then we got raided by Aza Inspirator and then raided Kevin Wong, who greets raiders by singing their bios. I announced at the beginning of the month that I’ll be taking part in a really cool little project care of Leesta Vall Sound Recordings in Brooklyn NY!
