I announced at the beginning of the month that I’ll be taking part in a really cool little project care of Leesta Vall Sound Recordings in Brooklyn NY!

I’ll be making some 7” records with Leesta Vall as part of their Direct-To-Vinyl Live Sessions project. These are single recordings, no copies, no reprints, one-off performances of a song of your choice for you and you alone!

Sometime in the last year I got an IMDb account. (That’s the Internet Movie Database) It’s a site with information about movies and actors and crew, where you can keep track of movies you’ve seen and want to see, and you can leave reviews, and give a film a rating out of 10 stars. I’ve long used IMDb to look up movies, or to see why that actor is so familiar etc. and my husband has had an account for decades, but for some reason, it only just recently occurred to me that I could have my own account. That Shade of Pink June 20, 2023

It’s my wedding anniversary today and one of the things that make me and my husband so compatible is that he likes shoes too and loves to go shoe shopping with me. He was with me when I saw these shoes, which are very like the imaginary pair of shoes I describe in my song Shoe Shopping: A Poem. We found ourselves in Montreal last summer so we headed downtown to hit Holt Renfrew to look at fancy shoes.

February and RPM challenge March 03, 2023

It’s Friday and I’ve been hard at work this past month. This year I took part in the RPM Challenge by recording as many songs as I could live on my Twitch show. I streamed 4 hours a day, Monday through Friday throughout the month and managed to record 11 songs, which is material for 3 EPs that I plan to put out throughout the year. Recording I Am Chaos October 13, 2022

I recorded I Am Chaos quite early in the album recording process. It is one of a handful of the songs that was recorded at the house we were renting while looking for our own place. It had a terribly noisy heating system, and was near a radio station. I also was still trying to use my old MXL 990 condenser mic to record. Between my gear picking up radio signals, the elaborate cable taping I had to do to keep that mic from hissing and crackling, and the heaters kicking in, it was a really irritating situation, but somehow...
